Taurus provides a selection of Downhole pump housing systems, known as Pods, designed to protect and isolate the Electrical Submersible Pump for various completion techniques. Pods house the pump and motor, and can be attached to specific tailpipe lengths for cooling or isolation purposes. Taurus Pump Pods are available with different connection interfaces for various strength and ease-of-installation requirements.
Pod connections can be manufactured as standard threads, slip-fit, or Taurus’ Clevis and Tang system, which is capable of resisting tension forces in excess of 400,000 lbs. Accommodations exist to allow chemical or instrumentation line past the pump/motor system into the reservoir.

The upper Pod housing (head) accommodates production tubing and Taurus Packer Penetrators for ESP cable. The head is connected to a mating lower component ( sub) using an extremely high strength connection. This ‘sub’ encloses the top of the pump/motor and Motor Lead system attachment. The body of the pump and its casing system are connected to this upper system. Taurus Pump Pods utilize a versatile adapter to create a high strength connection between the casing and the tailpipe which allows increased fluid flow to help cool the pump system.
